Case Studies and Testimonials
Sharon and Genevieve
Sharon got Genevieve with a plan to work with her as a therapy dog. But Genevieve was bit more than Sharon bargained for. Everything became a struggle from biting to pulling on the leash to separation anxiety.
Sharon came to Play To Behave in despair but now Genevieve is a different dog and may indeed become her partner as a therapy dog.
Listen to Sharon tell her story.
Debbie and Bentley
Debbie struggled with the dog she loved but he was like no other Boston Terrier she’d ever had. She was embarrassed to walk him and nervous she might get hurt. Her neighbors suggested she re-home Bentley.
Instead, she came to Play To Behave and not only has her life with Bentley improved, he is a beloved part of the family.
Debbie shares her experience above.
Shane and Jocelyn
Shane always wanted a dog. With a new piece of property and plans to build a house, it seemed like the perfect time. But his wife, Jocelyn, didn’t quite agree. Well, at least not to having a dog IN the house! That was a big “NO!”
It wasn’t long before that first pup ended up with a fenced, air-conditioned dog house to a warm spot in the garage…. to the back hallway… to the kitchen and finally, in the bedroom!
Now, they have 3 – yes, 3 dogs – locked into both Shane’s AND Jocelyn’s heart.

Barbara S. and Vinnie
Barbara is a very experienced performance dog owner in a number of sports.
But Vinnie… his behavior was new to her and had her stumped. Even worse, Barbara was heartbroken. She loves Vinnie and to think he was unhappy, was devastating for her.
How could Barbara give Vinnie his best life when he had such serious social anxiety? Watch to find out.

Barbara L. and Archie
Barbara has had Bearded Collies for years, but it had been a long time since she raised a puppy and this puppy… well, he has been a challenge!
While Archie has presented many training issues, Barbara got started early in Play To Behave so she has had the support she needed. Barbara and her husband, Tim, love Archie and he is… their best friend.

Fran B., Breeder and Competitor
Fran Bluhm owns “Perigueux Poodles”. She is dedicated to her dogs and to maintaining the integrity of the Poodle breed. Fran not only breeds Standard Poodles, she competes in Conformation, Agility and more.
One of Fran’s biggest challenges is placing her puppies in the right homes. She stands behind her puppies for life and takes great care in matching the right puppy with the right family.
That is where I have come into Fran’s world. We do temperament testing of the litter before matching the puppy and then the new owners can also join Play To Behave for further support.

Micheal and Jess
Micheal and his wife live in Ireland so while we had met in person, I have not met Jess, their border collie. Working online worked beautifully and now Jess is a beloved part of the family.
When Micheal contacted me, his two very young daughters were quite busy in the house so bringing in any dog would be a bit of a challenge. Jess was more so given that she had been living on a farm, not in a house. While she was a sweet border collie, she also had developed a lot of, well… bad habits on the farm. Micheal didn’t want to use any harsh training so the Play To Behave methods were just what he wanted. He went right to work on training and behavior and we talked often.
Jess is a bright little collie and picked up on things quickly. She is now lovely at home and goes with them to the beach and pretty much everywhere they go!

Agility Students
Maria and Gracie
Maria is an experienced handler in agility and I’ve known her for many years. I can’t recall when she started my class with Gracie but she was always a delight. Maria and Gracie have earned numerous titles in agility and scentwork, but some of her most rewarding experiences were in therapy work. Maria went to schools and hospitals. I am honored that she was also one of my students.
Edie and Hank
I’ve known Edie almost as long as I’ve been doing agility, so that’s over 22 years! She is an experienced handler and has had a number of agility dogs and has been both a fellow student and in my class. She is a pleasure and clearly loves her dogs. She does some other dog sports as well, so like Maria, who also did a testimonial, it is an honor that she is in my class. As I write this, I still get to look forward to seeing her every Tuesday with Hank!
Laura and Merlin
I first met Laura when I still had my first agility dog. We competed at the same venue almost 20 years ago. I have helped her with all three of her Belgian Tervurens in a variety of ways, but like Maria and Edie, the other student testimonials, I am certainly not her only mentor. Laura is extremely experienced in breed conformation, obedience, agility and more. She is devoted to her dogs and puts many hours of time into their success. I am very honored she made this video and chose to come to me over the years.
“Dr. Lincoln is a very smart, and compassionate veterinarian and animal behaviorist. First and foremost, she has the well-being of her dog clients at the top of her list, and strives to help us humans better understand and improve the relationship we have with our dogs, so life is better for all of us. Dr. Lincoln is also very generous with her time and knowledge, and for that… I am very grateful.”
