Veterinary Referrals

I am passionate about helping your clients with behavior so you can focus on their medical needs

Referral Information for Veterinarians

After practicing clinical medicine almost 25 years, I realize how limited your time is in the exam room with clients. Often I desperately wanted to help my clients with behavior problems but the time limits and setting made that difficult. Still, I realized, as I am sure you do, how important that bond was for my connection to the owner and for my patient’s medical care.

So, although I loved clinical practice and the people I worked with, I knew deep down that it was time to follow my passion. Now I can offer clients the time they need in their home where their pet feels most comfortable allowing for much greater success.

Support:

Know that I am here to support you. All clients will start with your health assessment. I ask that they see you for a physical, bloodwork, a urinalysis and x-rays when appropriate. I also recommend they see you to remain current on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention and their other needs. With your support on their health records, I can take any medical condition into consideration and focus only on the behavior. I am fortunate to have all those years of experience to understand how health issues can impact behavior in so many ways.

I am also available if you need phone support on a client or help with training your staff for handling difficult patients. Please call with any questions or concerns.

“I am immensely grateful for the help Carolyn has given me with my bluetick coonhound, Madison. Since she is a veterinarian as well as a behaviorist, Carolyn can address both aspects of Madison’s many issues by giving training advice as well as prescribing drugs when necessary. Carolyn tailors solutions over time, figuring out what works and what doesn’t. She is empathetic and answers questions fully and promptly.
